"Several years ago, I experienced what seemed like the toes on both of my feet flattening out rather than having a normal arch under the toes. My feet began to bother me more and more causing shooting pains at night and keeping me from doing the hiking and walking I had formerly done. Finally, one of my friends heard me complaining and suggested that I visit Ashley Shoes in West Linn because there was a lady there who really knew how to fit shoes. For several years, I had been wearing European shoes and sometimes insoles because of plantar faciaitis (sp), but this was not enough support. Mindy was quick to point out that I should not be walking around my carpeted floors in stocking feet, that I needed support slippers, and fitted me with Finn Comfort Shoes. As the weeks have gone by, my feet are less and less of a problem. I am hiking, have no pain at night, and my feet are nearly back to normal. I just drove up from Keizer to purchase winter shoes . I am very grateful to Mindy and Ashley's and will continue to purchase my shoes there. It's so great to have feet that don't hurt. Thank you!!!!

"The fateful day in 2008 I was looking for a pair of steel-toed dress shoes, I noticed a little shop called Ashley's located in Oregon City, Oregon. I walked in and asked the big guy who came up to me about said shoes, and he told me he didn't carry anything like that. I asked him if he knew of anybody who did and he said "no". I started to walk out, when this other guy (the owner) said "why do you want a pair of steel-toed shoes?" I told him I'd always had trouble with ingrown toenails and that steel-toed shoes allowed the most room for that type of feet. He said "I can tell you've never had a pair of shoes that fit you." I then said "what the heck do you mean? I get my feet measured just like everybody else when I buy a new pair of shoes." He says to me, "come over here to this mirror - now, look at how you're standing and now look at me- you notice anything different?" I says, "yeah, you appear to have ugly legs!!" Then I walked out. That night I got to thinking about what this man said. My curiosity got the best of me and I went back two days later. Fortunately, he was the only one at the shop. He measured my feet - width and legth. I had been wearing a 9-1/2 - 10 most of my adult life. He said I took an 11 - 11 1/2 EEEEE and in the back room he had a pair of 11 EEEEE. Those shoes changed my whold life! For the next year, my ingrown toenails went away - my feel quit hurting and the second year I have been pain-free and I'm up to 11 1/2 EEEEE. I think my feet realized once they were given a little room, that they stretched out to their actual length and that's not bad, since I'm turning 74 in a few month!! P.S. Word of Caution to those who suffer from aching feet: I have concluded that a salesman in all the shoe stores I've been in in my life will sell you what they want and have in stock instead of what YOU want, in the right size and width!!" -Robert L.

"I want you to know that by following your advice, my heels have much less pain now. I was not able to "stay off my feet" or to "not walk on cement" for about a month and a half after I first came to Ashley's Shoes looking for help. But, the Brooks shoes which you sold to me helped quite a bit even though I was still on my feet a good bit of the time and walking on the cement sidewalks. I have taken a couple of months leave of absence from some of the responsibilities I have, and thus can now stay off my feet more for now. And, like you said they would be - they are better. I still have a ways to go, but I do thank you for the advice and help you have given me thus far.
